The evil U.S. marketing mavens continue their efforts to globalize, homogenize, and eradicate cultural differences. They never sleep as they strive to come up with new ways to spread the disease of commercialism to even the furthest reaches of the world. The U.S. marketing machine steamrolls over the innocents who have (up till now) been spared the unhealthy addictions to mass produced food-like substances many Americans are physically and emotionally enslaved to. The above video "documentary" is testimony to what lengths fast food chains and marketing madness will go to deflower the cultures who have miraculously escaped commercialism's clutches till now. Today they shove hamburgers into the hands and mouths of holy Tibetan monks and hard working hard living Eskimos. Tomorrow who knows what plans those dastardly destructive evil marketing geniuses will hatch to spread the contamination of commercialism? I would not be surprised if they don't target the deepest Amazonian naked tribeswomen with the likes of such idiotic atrocities as America's Next Top Model or how about aboriginal women with the latest buns and abs blasting devices. Better yet, why not go back and humiliate the Eskimos some more by giving their women free Victoria's Secret lingerie fittings? It boggles the mind and saddens the heart of any free-thinking rational being.
Honestly Tony what does the USA produce these days. Everything is farmed out to China and India, and Americans buy from Wallmart. Why do we have a financial meltdown --- its because Americans do not earn enough and therefore CREATIVE FINANCING schemes are the only way for the brokers and the bankers to make their six figure incomes, and when it all comes tumbling down they still get bailed out with tax dollars to replace the losses the institutions made so they can keep their jobs and prepare for the next round. That is American marketing, and by the way last month the entire world was just days away from a complete financial collapse, but the FED came up with new CREATIVE FINANCING - its called PRINTING MONEY. That is the biggest American enterprise today --- PAPER PRODUCTION to keep the printing presses going!
Thank you, EuroYank, for your interesting comments. There are many reasons for the WORLD financial problems and not all of them rest squarely on the shoulders of American financial practices. The huge bank debts of the Germans, Dutch, British and other European countries had little to do with monies transacted between themselves and American institutions but with the lending practices they have with their own people and other international interests. You are also right about the devaluation of money being one of the critical elements but that devaluation is taking place all over the world and no longer has anything to do with the "value" of the American Dollar like it used to. That went out the door several years ago when the Euro gained dominance.
Tony wrong - China and Germany are not consumption countries they export and if you read the papers over here you would see how many Trillions were lost in Europe and in China to the American subprime mortgage scheme. Also look at the American STOCK MARKET, and all the PENSION FUNDS lost. Its all interelated hence my current post. You should also check MSNBC and CNBC, once in a while. I understand that you do NOT get the news we get in Europe, and I think I know why. You seem to forget that the USA gets its capital from FOREIGN INVESTMENTS, and that the USA continuously raids social security etc to function. I have all the videos on my site. Also the American NATIONAL DEBT is now 58 TRILLION, and the INTEREST on that money has to be paid yearly, the TRADE BALANCE DEFICIT, the DEFENSE BUDGET, etc. Soon just the INTEREST PAYMENTS on the NATIONAL DEBT and the MANDATORY EXPENDITURE will exceed the TOTAL TAX INCOME of the USA. Really Tony I did not spend five years blogging and researching to get a lesson from you! But you are right to really nail it down would require most of my posts on this subject which are quite lengthy. Also for example THE AVERAGE GERMAN SAVINGS RATE IS the HIGHEST IN THE WORLD, that is why Germany is paying the EU bills for most of the EUROPEAN UNION countries. You can check on that!
Also don't forget that West Germany is still paying for East Germany after the reunification. No country in the world could absorb another 33% additional population, honor their pensions that were based on the bankrupt communist currency on a one to one basis. That would be like the USA absorbing Canada and Mexico and paying their pensions and benefits and modernizing them to the American standard. (just a little side not!)
Tony you need to take ECO 101 and my last word is maybe you forgot the US dollar is the world RESERVE CURRENCY and everything on the MARKET is DOLLAR BASED! So what the F does the EURO have to do with it? Its the FEDERAL RESERVE ...
I couldn't help wondering, as I watched that ad, what introducing a fast-food burger into their diets did to their digestive systems. I can't imagine what kind of discussion took place while they decided this was a good idea. It's just surreal.
EuroYank ~ Dude, you are way too intense for me and know so much more about global economics and the evils of the Federal Reserve than I do. I bow to your expertise and appreciate your interactions.
Hope ~ Funny, but I had the same thought. I wondered how their digestive systems dealt with such a foreign intrusion. Of course, let's also look at the fact that the burgers they were being fed looked far better than any I've ever gotten order over the counter. I am sure they made some primo burgers for this experiment but still think it was a silly waste of money and effort. Can you come up with some ways that money could have been better spent on improving the world instead of spreading the Burger King empire?
Simply this Tony ... If there is no credit, and the Fed is bailing out banks that are not lending, who si benefiting, and maybe you have an answer after watching this video, and tell me what you think ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9-tBGxVU6o&eurl=http://www.euroyank.blogspot.com/
There’s a funny blog on freedomhaters.org on the Whopper Virgins commercial.
It ties it into Noam Chomsky and how the indigenous people on the commercials will most likely be forced to move to big cities when the fast food chains move in, and have to work for Burger King for a tenth of what American’s make.
EuroYank ~ most U.S. citizens were and are NOT for the recent (and apparently continuing) bailouts. Just another example of the government doing what they will without the People's approval or support. I think it is part of an ongoing plot for the U.S. Government to gain control of private interests but that is another opinionated story for another day. But the idea of making more paper "money" to throw at the artificially created problem is definitely a huge step down the road to financial destruction for this country. A financial destruction some people think is already unavoidable.
I personally think it is ludicrous for these bailouts to even be considered. It is contrary to the "natural" flow of economics and a slap in the face to the American people and all the hard working small business people who are struggling to survive this horrendous mess created by the Bush Regime, the Middle East wars, and the general selling off of America to her enemies.
I think it is even more stunning that the Bush administration admitted last week that they had no idea how to track how the corporations were using the bailout funds or how to enforce the "proper use" of those funds. Dipsticks! Basic business 101 principles are lost on those Bozos!
Thank you for the informative video and your continued efforts to inform the public of the truth behind their governments' actions.
Finally, let's keep in mind that the whole idea behind this post was not a slam on U.S. citizens, in general, or the U.S. Government as a whole. It was poking fun at the idiocy we have often allowed without question to reign from those mass media moguls who will go to any length to capture our dwindling dollars and spread commercialism and globalism.
Anonymous ~ Thank you for the link to Freedom Haters and their post on Noam Chomsky's possible view of the Whopper Virgins project by Burger King. Pretty much what I was getting at, too, with my attempt to point out the silliness of such an effort and waste of money as what Burger King (or should we more appropriately say, "Burger King's advertising agency"?) did. Thank you for visiting Bonez and contributing. And for "getting it" (big grin).
I have to admit, if the marketing wonks put a group of NY socialites in the Amazon and some Amazon tribesmen in NY for the sake of selling a burger, I might buy one.
Fat Tony ~ you are too damn gullible. You would sell out just for the possibility of a glimpse of some NY socialite artificially tanned thighs? I had higher expectations for you than that. Well, maybe I should say that I had hoped you were of higher moral character than I.

Tony WELL SAID, and I agree! I just wanted to RILE YOU UP, and let the REAL YOU get out. Well done "grand gramps blogger!"
