Bettie Page Still Hot After All These Years

Bettie Mae Page (April the 22nd 1923 - December the 11th 2008) Godmother of Pin-Up and Burlesque, Inspiration of many other artists like Dita Von Teese. Bettie Page passed away at the age of 85. After being admitted to a Los Angeles area hospital for pneumonia, she suffered a heart attack and never regained consciousness. Her cremated remains were laid to rest at Westwood Memorial Cemetery on December 31st, 2008. Her memory, beauty, and inspiration will live on forever.

The film premiered at the 2005 Toronto International Film Festival and was shown at the Berlin International Film Festival and the South by Southwest Film Festival before going into limited release in the U.S. on April 14, 2006. Opening on twenty screens, it grossed $143,131 in its opening weekend. It eventually earned $1,415,082 in the U.S. and $362,924 in foreign markets for a total worldwide box office of $1,778,006. Very sad as the movie is much better than critics gave it credit for and should have opened on at least 120 screens to have given it a chance. Watch below for yourself and decide. The film was released on DVD in the U.S. on September 26, 2006.
