Leave it up to Wired magazine to create a list of the 50 Best Robots Ever complete with photos of each. Surprisingly, R2D2 and C3PO (19th) didn't rank very high on the list compared to Robby the Robot (4th) or even Astro Boy at (#2?). But to see KITT (#47) and HAL 9000 (#48) nearly at the bottom of the list was disheartening. Sadly, missing from the list entirely was good ol' Johnny Five which must have been an oversight. I won't give away the number one best robot ever, but I will say that my vote would have been for Spirit and Opportunity (#3) on Mars.
