John Lennon Gave Peace a Chance

I still miss John Lennon. I remember the shock of hearing of his death so clearly. I was driving to Biloxi, Mississippi and it was the day after my birthday. John Lennon had been shot and killed on my freakin' birthday! My dream of getting to hear the Fab Four in person was shattered and could never be realized. I hated Mark David Chatman for stealing part of my youth... for killing a part of me. Not only of me... but of the whole world and an entire culture. They should have fried the stupid bastard's ass.

I'll join you in that...it was one of those moments when a piece of your youth gets stolen...I also remember where I was when I heard the news and how shoked I felt and how shocked I was BY how shocked I was !

John Lennon was a hero of an age of political innocense. Now we are all tainted by the Bush Nazis and their warmongering ways. We have to put up with the circus of politics that will never give peace a chance.

Couldn't agree more with the post and comments. Yesterday was a day listening to his music and wondering what he would say about our world today...

I was fortunate enough to see the Beatles in 1964, although I couldn't hear them (too many screaming girls!).
I was truly saddened in 1980 when I'd heard that Lennon was murdered. The Beatles are still my all-time favorite
group, and I grew to admire him and what he stood for.
