Love Is All You Need

I Need LoveAll I need is Love. Love is all I need. I am not talking about that obnoxious needy sort of love when I say "I Need Love". I am NOT needy and I am not seeking insincere "love" or empathy. I am talking about that special bold faced unconditional love, Baby. The kind of love that is a no holds barred in your face gut level I love you no matter what kind of love. Know what I mean? Know what I need? All I need is love. Love is all I need.

Love is all I need to be. If I am to be loved unconditionally then I need to BE the unconditional love first. I think I love unconditionally, but do I really? No, unfortunately, I do not love everyone unconditionally. That is something else I am working on.

Always working and walking the walk yet never completing or arriving. I know someone out there understood what I just said. The work is never done. I never arrive. The target is always moving just beyond my grasp and the ultimate enlightenment evades me. Until it doesn't.

Do I reserve that special coveted unconditional love only for special people in my life? If so, what makes those people so special to me that I give them something I am not willing to give to others who want the very same thing? Oh, so much work to do on me and so little time to do it in. Hold on a minute! What am I saying? There is no such thing as time because there is only this moment the Now. Hmmm, guess I need to be writing another post on the illusion of time and space (huge grin). "It's all in the mind, you know." ~ George Harrison in Yellow Submarine

Love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love.
There's nothing you can do that can't be done.
Nothing you can sing that can't be sung.
Nothing you can say but you can learn how to play the game
It's easy.
There's nothing you can make that can't be made.
No one you can save that can't be saved.
Nothing you can do but you can learn how to be you
in time - It's easy.

All you need is love, all you need is love,
All you need is love, love, love is all you need.
Love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love.
All you need is love, all you need is love,
All you need is love, love, love is all you need.
There's nothing you can know that isn't known.
Nothing you can see that isn't shown.
Nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be.
It's easy.
All you need is love, all you need is love,
All you need is love, love, love is all you need.
All you need is love (all together now)
All you need is love (everybody)
All you need is love, love, love is all you need.

~ Lennon/McCartney - The Beatles from The Blue Album

Meh, Never liked the Beatles, and anyway, if all you need is love then wahtabout all those other emotions like hate and and sadness and other things (a good J every now and again), what about good music, sex, work, friends... all you need is everything.

NakedKaf ~ Depends on your spiritual perspective. There really are only two emotional powers and all others are derived from them. Love and Fear. The ones you state (hate, sadness) are dominated by Fear and thus are counter productive or inhibiting to positive progression and growth. That is not to say that they are not a very real part of what it means to be a HUMAN being because they definitely are part of the human experience. But Human BEING does not mean that there has to be an imbalance of the Love/Fear dichotomy in our lives ... which is what seems most people think.

However, this post was not about the Love/Fear duality but about the need to love unconditionally and the desire to be loved unconditionally. Do you realize that all you said about also needing good music, sex, friends, jokes, work, etc. are love-based items that you value? Even your own comments point to the Truth that there is only Love or Fear and all actions and emotions can be tied to one or the other. Either you are acting out of Love or you are acting out of Fear ... when I am aware of this I do my best to act out of Love. I don't succeed all the time but it becomes more frequent with practice.
