My Motivation to Work Out

Cute Girl at the Gym

I have been putting off my physical "condition" for several years now. Well, not totally. I did quit smoking January first 2007 and went vegetarian ... um, okay, I went total lacto-ovo pescetarian and definitely not vegan, but hey, it's my small part to save the planet and my own health. The dietary changes helped me keep my weight down after quitting smoking but I still suffered what appeared to be inches being applied to my waistline. No one who knows me would say that I was overweight but they would admit that the old tire around the middle has gotten a bit out of hand of late. I know it is just a matter of watching my diet, eating proper portions, cutting out on certain "bloating" foods and get some regular exercise. Of course, the getting regular exercise part is what I am struggling with. Everyone needs to have a goal or vision in mind that provides them with incentive and focus to stay on track. While researching exercise incentives I found the above instructional video that clearly detailed the necessary steps to stay motivated with any serious exercise regime. This insightful, dedicated and inspirational instructor has given me the motivation and "can do" spirit I was needing to commit to working out and getting rid of that old Michelin Man profile. I think I will begin with walking every evening and then quickly move to extreme sheep herding as my primary choices for exercise. I know I can be successful in my efforts ... That is, I will once I can stop watching my motivational video.

Let us know how this works out for us. Wishing you success!

Thinkinfyou ~ I have an aversion to any workout that may be physically taxing or strain my weakened constitution. I am fine with the low impact yet highly motivated routines my chosen instructor recommends.

Daughter of Wisdom ~ You are always the positive one that I admire :) I would actually prefer your recommended Nature Walks to the taxing regime my new found instructor supports. Hmmm... that does sound more fun and in tune with Who I Really Am... Thanks DOW!

I lost 21 pounds since the first of the year. Young women like the one in the video have been smiling at me and I like it! Now that is some motivation!

Ole Blue ~ Look over here, I think I found your 21 pounds ... they ended up attached to my waistline. Congratulations on your loss, seriously, and good luck with those smiling young ladies.

Michelle ~ Run? Damn, that sure sounds an awful lot of work to get a sexy svelte bod. Isn't there a pill I can take that will get me there faster and with a lot less of a strain? Glad to hear you had such a good time on your half marathon. BTW, what happened to the other half?
