Legendary Pinup Bettie Page Gone But Never Forgotten

Bettie Page, pop culture heroine and pinup model extraordinaire died December 11th from a heart attack at age 85. Bettie Page was an impressive influence on both women and men all over the world. Her bold and provocative approach to making dressing in lingerie and playing gleefully with her sexual image assisted in bringing about the sexual revolution of the 1960's. With over twenty thousand photographs and unknown hours of video footage Bettie will always be with us and continue to inspire and tantalize men and women for generations to come. Photographs and videos defined Bettie Page as the cult public figure she was so I will let those same images and videos speak for and memorialize her here.

Yes she turned a lot of heads in her time. Even mine as I recall. It also takes a steady hand to watch these videos. (Just thought I would throw that in for the hardcore crowd that appreciates it!)

She will be turning heads for a very long time. She won her place in history and still lived a long and full life after her "fame". Not at all like the Marilyn Monroe James Dean etc. etc. etc. type of pop icons.

I saw this in the news today. Beautiful woman.

Hi Mimi ~ Yes, Bettie Page was indeed a beautiful woman but I think her sensuality was definitely something she was in control of and manipulated for her fans. She proved a woman could be playfully naughty and have fun at it and that even things as simple as dressing could heighten the sexual energies when done in the right attitude. She said she was a great actor :)

One of my favorite pinups. I am happy that I have lots of pics and vids of her.

It's sort of funny, Blue. I've intentionally not said Bettie Page will be missed because she will always be with us in the only form most of us have ever known... pictures and videos.
