Cryptic Curios Taxidermy Art

Flying MonkeySarina Brewer at Custom Creatures practices what some term as Rogue Taxidermy. This means she and other rogue taxidermists believe their artistic creations are examples of tradition-based early Natural History curio collecting and samples of cryptozoology and anomalies of nature.

Some viewers may find Brewer's custom creatures to be morbid, gross or even perverse and viewer discretion is advised when visiting her site. Sarina herself tells everyone, "I call it art, you can call it whatever you want."

One must admire the attention to detail and the great respect with which she treats her subjects. Even though her bizarre cryptic curios may unsettle some people, her love of the circle of life and nature in general is quite apparent in her works.

cool post. someday I'd like to have my husband and my dogs stuffed. I wonder if these people will do it for me? *evil grin*

If you allow them to create a diarama using your dogs AND your husband you may have a better chance. That would much more artistic than individual pieces. However, I think their experience with human cadvers may be more limited than their roadkill skills. Hey, that's an idea. You could run over your husband and the dogs and they would totally qualify as roadkill thus instantly inspiring our rogue taxidermist friends :) Alway, glad to help...

Yeah i wish i had an evil cryptic monkey. Then i could train him and then feed him. And then when he dies i could have him stuffed and then i could put a little hat on him and a little vest, and then he could be that little flying monkey thing from the wizard of oz.

Dr. Dinglebary, you are scaring me! Who said the monkey was evil? The flying monkeys in the Wizard of Oz were alive and not stuffed. In fact, I am not even sure they were monkeys at all but were midgets in monkey suits on wires.
