Well, as the film illustrates... the person whom I may end up hanging on to when the world goes boom is also hanging by a thread and may soon lose their grip which would leave both plummeting into the darkness below. Now that is indeed a comforting thought :)

I didn't quite get it. I think it has deep existential meanings that I am incapable of comprehending. But I liked it anyway. :)
Maybe you are looking to hard. What if it only means that if the whole world goes to smithereens there is always someone to hang on to?
