Hundred Year Old Giant Fish Caught

90 Year-old Alaskan RockfishI wish I were fishing today. I didn't know fish lived to be over one hundred years old. A sixty pound Alaskan rockfish was caught that scientists estimate was between 90 and 115 years old. Seems like it should have been a catch and release to me.

To get to that age and then be killed in such a cruel way. All in the name of science I gather?

Ah, "in the name of science" and death. Something I've pondered many times in the past. When is the death of an innocent warranted in the name of science? To me, this is one such case that it was NOT warranted since the measuring and aging of a fish has no bearing on anything that would enhance our existence or improve our futures.

It seems like old fish are ugly fish.

Hahaha, well, I am not certain all old fish are ugly fish but then again, some people think that all fish are ugly no matter what their age is.

Thanks for visiting Bonez, Def!
