Michael J. Fox Campaigns for Stem Cell Research

Claire McCaskill, Missouri Democrat, is in favor of embryonic stem cell research. Michael J. Fox suffers from Parkinson Disease which some scientists believe could possibly be cured from the discoveries from stem cell research. Fox has made similar campaign ads for Rep. Benjamin L. Cardin, who is running for the Senate in Maryland and Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle. He also was planning to appear at events for Senator Robert Menendez of New Jersey and Tammy Duckworth, a candidate for Congress from Illinois. Dr. John Boockvar, a neurosurgeon and assistant professor at Weill Cornell Medical Center at New York's Presbyterian Hospital said, "If there is one single disease that has the highest potential for benefit from stem cell research it's Parkinson's." Most Americans favor and support some sort of stem cell research even though President Bush's administration has done extreme damage to the efforts to develop research in the U.S..
Republican zombie, drug addict and foul-mouthed sensationalistic liar Rush Limbaugh's remarks that Michael J. Fox is exaggerating his apparent symptoms as a sellout to the Democrats is appalling and shameful. Why does this have to be about Democrats or Republicans? Why can't we move beyond our political differences to work for the greater good of humankind? Hindering scientific and medical research that could save millions of lives is closed-minded ignorance. Of course, it seems the Republicans are more set on killing, maiming and manipulating than in saving lives and improving the world. Stem cell research isn't the only science that the Bush administration has tried to squash and I doubt they will stop displaying their stupidity any time soon. Their neoconservative mindset is moving America backwards at an ever increasing pace and I feel sorry for the lives that are being destroyed today and will be destroyed in the future because of their actions.

Why the hell anyone would take anything Rush "Oxy-Moron" Limbaugh says seriously is beyond me.

If it weren't for his constant propping up by the owners of the media, he'd have been gone awhile ago.

I agree, Jollyroger. However, it seems the Republican media machine is churning out their own (healthy) celebrities and sports stars to counter Michael's plea for help. I am just waiting for Mr. Fox to be branded unpatriotic and a threat to national security... Just like a lot of us who have a mind of our own and question the current administration's unethical behavior and lack of social concern for the betterment of mankind.
